For B2B distributors

Commercial card payments are costing you more than they should

Visa now checks the invoice data sent with business card payments. Without real line items, corporate and purchasing cards pay the top rate. See what that's costing you, then send the invoice with every payment.

What changed

Visa's new rules for commercial cards

Most distributors weren't told. Their statements just got more expensive.

  1. Oct 17, 2025Visa starts checking the line-item data on commercial card payments (its Commercial Enhanced Data Program). Placeholder or generic data no longer qualifies.
  2. Jan 24, 2026Visa raises small-business card rates for enhanced data, and Level 2 data now costs more than sending none.
  3. Apr 2026Visa ends Level 2 rates. Only verified, invoice-quality Level 3 data earns the lower commercial rate.
  4. 2026Weak or placeholder data on commercial cards draws penalty fees, on top of missing the lower rate.

The fix isn't a better rate. It's your data.

Your invoice's line items, on every card payment

The invoice you already wrote goes with the payment, at the counter, over the phone and by pay link. Then we watch it, so it keeps qualifying.

FAQ

Level 3 recovery, explained

What is Level 3 data?

The line items from your invoice (product codes, quantities, unit prices, tax) sent with a commercial card payment. Card networks charge less on corporate and purchasing cards when that data comes with the payment.

Why am I losing money if I already accept cards?

Most ERPs and virtual terminals send no line items, or generic placeholders. Since Visa started checking the data in October 2025, those payments pay the standard commercial rate, roughly 2.70% instead of 1.75% on corporate and purchasing cards, and in 2026 placeholder data can also draw penalty fees.

Which cards does this affect?

Mostly Visa and Mastercard corporate and purchasing cards: the cards government buyers, schools, contractors and larger companies pay with. Visa raised small-business card rates in January 2026, so those save little; our estimate leaves them out.

Do I have to switch processors to get the audit?

No. The Recovery Audit is free whoever processes your cards. To collect the savings, your card payments run through Mojo Payments on cost-plus pricing, with your invoice line items sent with each commercial card payment.

Does it work with my ERP or accounting system?

Level 3 needs the invoice's lines at the moment of payment. Our invoice pay links send them from the invoice itself, and POS Gateway sends them from the ticket at the counter. Tell us your system in the form and we'll show you how the lines reach the payment in your setup.

What does Level 3 cost?

Level 3 is a product you turn on in your Mojo Payments portal, which shows its price before you agree to it. The saving on qualifying cards is typically far larger than the cost; your Recovery Report shows both.

How accurate is the estimate?

It is deliberately conservative: it counts only Visa and Mastercard corporate and purchasing cards and assumes a typical card mix. Your Recovery Report uses your actual statements.
